The official Missouri DPS transition notice says every user who wants local jail or detention-offender notices had to create a new registration through the current MOVANS portal. An old local-jail registration did not carry forward automatically.

The change also ended phone-call and VINELink-app notifications for local jail events. Current Grundy County local-detention registration uses SMS text, email, or both when the portal offers them. Users registered only for Missouri court events or MODOC offender notices by text or email generally did not need to repeat the local-jail registration process.

The official 2026 transition notice controls when it conflicts with older brochures. A saved phone PIN or app alert from the former system is not proof that a current Grundy County local-jail notice remains active. Sign in, locate the correct record, and inspect the live registration.

Old VINELink PIN Instructions in Grundy County

The 2024 MOVANS brochure described a telephone workflow with a four-digit PIN. The recipient entered the PIN followed by the pound sign to acknowledge a call. Email did not require that telephone PIN. Those instructions remain useful for understanding an old registration but do not describe the current Grundy County local-jail channel.

Phone calls for local detention notifications ended with the May 2026 transition. Current local registration uses SMS and email through the MOVANS portal. If the live portal asks for a code or another verification step, follow its wording. Do not label that new prompt as the former phone PIN unless the screen itself does so.

A person who once received VINELink-app or phone alerts should not wait for the next event to test the old registration. Create a new local-jail registration, confirm the selected event types, and verify that the current SMS or email destination is correct.
